001.    okay, i know that argylle is a silly spy movie, with very stupid tropes and full of cheese.   i don't care  —  it's a film that's brought me an immense deal of comfort.   aidan's blog here is just meant to be a silly little place for me to write my favorite cheesy spy.   if you really hated argylle,  please refrain from following me.002.    this blog is LOW-ACTIVITY,  low-stress.   aidan is not my main blog,  and i run a number of blogs  —  i like to bounce around between blogs :   my main blogs are offenseonly and amreality.   i plan to pop onto aidan once or twice a week,  and either reply straight to dash or queue replies for a week,  depending on how much i am able to write.   queue will always be set to 1 - 2 posts a day.003.     i use simple formatting :   no icons,  regular - sized text,  and simple bold / italics / hyperlinks by way of formatting.   i use strictly present tense,  and almost exclusively third - person point of view.   i may,  verse dependent,  attempt to emulate elly's writing for threads in the past  —  that will be the only time that past - tense will be used.   graphics + psd were made by kaisercoms.004.     this blog is hesitantly multi - verse.   while i'd love to stick primarily to the kingsman universe,  i take plenty of inspiration from other spy media,  namely the bond universe, as well as matthew vaughn and guy ritchie's spy universes.   argylle doesn't take itself seriously in the slightest bit,  and while i will be writing aidan as a genuine character,  i will be continuing to build a fun,  colorful,  and primarily,  cliched + cheesy universe for aidan + co to play around in.

005.     argylle is set in the kingsman universe.   i know people don't particularly love the kingsman films,  but they're incredibly special to me.   until matthew has revealed how the two series are fully integrated together,  i will be treating aidan as a freelance spy,  a former member of the directorate,  who has long since defected.   i have not yet finished reading the first novel,  but you can assume i will be taking the novel into aidan's background.006.     aidan is not easy to ship. i will be almost exclusively be shipping him with elly, as any other ship will take an extreme amount of development and chemistry.   until further notice, i will likely not be shipping aidan with any other characters in the kingsman universe — original characters excepted.   aidan is bisexual, with no preference to any gender.007.     being from a matthew vaughn film,  aidan has the potential to be triggering.   common triggers applicable to this blog are :   violence,  espionage,  loss of privacy,  mind control / loss of autonomy,  murder,  death,  guns,  suicide,  poisoning,  drugging,  blood,  torture,  medical discussion,  knives,  animal endangerment,  consensual sexual content.

aidan has quit working for the directorate, and with ritter finally taken down, he's given a chance to breathe.   it's the first vacation he's taken in his life, probably, and he's spending it learning to unwind   —   playing househusband to elly, playing cat dad to alfie.   once the argylle series is finally finished, who knows.   maybe he'll return to the CIA.   he's been on his own for so long, he isn't sure if he can go back to working as part of a team.pre-canon.

he's not quite a statesman.   but he's the first call the statesmen will make before they go full apocalypse - mode.   ( he's available if you need him, kingsmen!   just give him one of those sweet suits. )   following the disappearance of rachel kylle, aidan has found himself without an agency   —   by design, that is.   as is, he finds himself flitting between kentucky and london,  freelancing between the two major agencies.the hunger games.
a former victor,  aidan is an unassuming young man,  small in stature,  and with severe chronic back pain.   from district 2,  aidan was a career tribute,  proud and capable.   life was easy for him until he found himself falling in love with the following year's victor  —  a career tribute by the name of rachel kylle.   following her games,  however,  though she wins,  an injury leaves rachel without her memory,  and despite his frustration,  aidan finds himself falling in love with elly — the young woman left in rachel's wake — all over again,  determined to help her remember.
